Garage Door Top Seal (18 Feet)

There is great potential for heat/cooling loss at the top of any garage door, and this product is a very good option in combating this issue. The 3/4" wide leading edge is a hard PVC material bonded to the 1-3/4" flexible vinyl material.

When installed on the top of the door, the hard PVC portion of the seal is attached to the top of the door. As the door closes, the 1-3/4" vinyl seal bends back, making contact with the header of the structure. This results in a very good seal and is typically used in conjunction with side seals mounted on the outside.

Another installation option is to attach the hard PVC portion of the weather seal to the underside of the top of the opening, on the outside of the door. In this case, when the door closes, the 1-3/4" vinyl flap folds and contacts the door for a good seal.

A third option is to install this product on the top of the door and also on the outside of the door on the opening, creating a double seal. This provides about the best seal achievable on a garage door.

Even when there is an exterior weather seal present, this product is often installed on the inside, at the top of the door. It is also a very good option to consider if you need to create a custom weather seal, as the hard PVC portion offers many customization possibilities.

This seal has been used as a side seal, on sliding doors, and in many other situations where there was an air gap, making it a valuable product to have on hand for anyone regularly doing weather seal work. It functions effectively as a garage door perimeter seal and can be used in conjunction with garage door weather stripping trim.
